Where you stand based on performance
Pickleball Rankings
A ranking orders players relative to one another based on performance in tournaments or leagues over a defined time period. Rankings are typically used to determine seeding and can influence qualification for events. They work alongside ratings: while your rating reflects ability, your ranking shows where you stand compared with others based on results.

Rankings Overview
Rankings at a Glance
- Based on verified results. Only match and event results that organizers or platforms submit to a ranking provider are counted.
- Updates as new results post. Your position can rise or fall each time eligible events are processed.
- Used for seeding and qualification. Event directors often reference rankings for draws, seeds, and entry thresholds.
- Strength of opposition matters. Most providers weigh opponent quality, event tier, and how far you advance.
- Recent play carries weight. Older results may be de-emphasized as the ranking window rolls forward.
- Separate tables by division. Singles, Doubles, and Mixed (and sometimes age/skill groups) track independently.
- Minimum activity may apply. Some lists require a profile and a baseline number of matches to appear.
- Ranking vs. rating. A rating is a single number estimating ability; a ranking is your position compared to others.
How Rankings Work
- Play eligible events. Enter tournaments, leagues, or match play that report results to a ranking provider.
- Results are verified & posted. Organizers or platforms submit scores tied to your provider profile.
- Points/placement are calculated. A provider-specific formula accounts for factors like opponent strength, event level, and progression.
- Your place updates. Leaderboards refresh on a rolling timeframe, reflecting your most recent performance.
Where Rankings Are Used
- Tournament seeding and draw placement
- Qualification thresholds for limited-entry events
